Chodesh Tov! Happy Birthday Rabbeinu HaKadosh!

A Gut Choidesh.

Rabbeinu Nachman MiBreslov, Rebbe of Rebbes whose fire will burn until Mashiach.
I would be so lost in all aspects of Avodas Hashem without his advice. Where would we be without him? Would we know how to get through a yerida? Would we know how to daven at all? Would we be Jewish?

There is a lot to say about Rabbeinu for his birthday which falls out on on rosh hodesh Nissan which is the rosh hashana for kings (when else would he be born?). I will focus on a simple aspect of his thought but which is so sorely needed these days. Hopefully we all know Likutey Moharan Reish Pey Bet. The Rebbe explains that we must judge everyone favorably including ourselves, finding the good points and through this process do we turn all evil into good.

I see a lot of people, including myself, complaining about evil sometimes. It can happen if someone isn't as "frum" as the next or part of his religious world view etc. In fact, I know some people who think they bolster their own spirituality by bringing down other people. Rabbeinu teaches us the only way to break evil and make it holy is by focusing on the good. The Rebbe says, even if the person is completely evil, one must find the good within him and that will make him holy. We have to stop worrying about all problems we face today and start focusing on the positive things that this world that Hashem has put us in has to offer. We won't bring Mashiach by bringing people down, but by raising them up and showing that even the biggest sinner is close to the One above.

This leads to another extremely important Torah of Rabbeinu. The Rebbe said "a little is also good." We usually think that if our davening or learning wasn't so great then it was worthless. The Rebbe is teaching that every small good we do is extremely important and powerful. I read a maysa that about a ball tshuva who was having a yerida and drove to the beach on Shabbos. He bought a coke and slowly said a bracha on it. His friends made fun of him and said "You're on a beach on Shabbos and saying a bracha!? The baal tshuva's Breslov teacher told him later that he was totally right and one should never allow anything to stop him from doing any ounce of good, especially aveiras.

We should be zocheh to follow in the path of Rabbeinu, in finding the good in others and ourselves.

Sometimes when I ask Hashem for help, I anticipate it being fulfilled through supernatural miracles. Hahsem does not talk or help me through fiery chariots, instead through people.

When I Daven for patience, Hashem doesn't just give me the trait of patience.  Rather, Hashem puts me in a situation to either attain this quality or to disregard it. For example, there was this nasty lady in front of me in CVS causing a commotion. Instead of being tolerate, I was annoyed and frustrated. Hashem answered my tefilos by giving me a chance to incorporate patience into my life, but it is up to me acquire it (and if i don't, there are always more and more opportunities. A few days later I was in the same situation is a supermarket. I just sang, while the lady was bickering about her coupon. Just don't give up).

THE MEANING OF PRAYER AND MEDITATION:
PRAYER= asking god for things we want

MEDITATION=listening to what god wants us to do.

HASHEM IS HERE

Hashem is Here” by Uncle Moshie.

Hashem is here, Hashem is there, Hashem is truly everywhere.

Hashem is here, Hashem is there, Hashem is truly everywhere.

Up, up, down, down, right, left and all around, here, there and everywhere,

that’s where he can be found.

Most of us were raised singing the awesome song of uncle moshie, “hashem is here.”

For the past year I have been trying to make a correlation of two stories of the Kotzker rebbi (Rabbi Menachem Mendel Morgensztern of Kotzk,1787-1859. He is a talmud of Reb Simcha bunim. His major students were: Rabbi Mordechai Yosef Leiner of Izbict, author of the Mai Shaloach, Rabbi Avrohom Bornsztain, author of Avnei Nezer, The first Rebbe of Ger, Rabbi Yitzchak Meir Alter or the Chidushei Harim. )

Two great stories of The Kotzker.

When the rebbi was a child, Rav Baruch of Mezibush came to visit the town. Rav menachem was known as a young Eloy (genius, don't know how to spell) and Rav Barach went to test the child. Rav Baruch said the the child, "I will give you a coin if you can tell me where Hashem is?" Rav Mecham answered sharply, "I will give you two coins if you can tell me when hashem is not."

    I

n the rebbi's later years he was asked the same question. His response was different. He said to the talmud " Hashem is where ever you let him in."

As humans, we ignorantly think that we control the world. We selfishly forget our creator. We instill in our minds and illusionary concept, "I am in control."

Hashem is everywhere regardless, however when we destroy this imaginary notion of control and give control over to hashem. We can live in reality of being one with Hashem. This can only be done through gratitude and the realization that everything is a gift from Hashem.

I will open with some quotes from Rav Kook's notebooks, the Shmoneh Kvatzim with the english translation from Avinoam Rosenak.

"On no account is he capable of confining his soul to prescribed studies. He must therefore set loose his spirit to wander in accordance with its inclination. Let him seek the Lord wherever his soul, hovering above the many waters, leads him. . ." (1:151)

"Prophecy and the holy spirit come from a person’s inwardness, and from withinhim, he overflows to everything related to the world as a whole." (8:127)

"I love the oceans, sailing through the heavens; for them I long "(3:222)

a class in queens college

backspace seems to be the constant theme in my life right now. as i look at the screens and see the line flashing on and off anticipating the next thought, all i have is nothing. how does one write nothing and portray it in a seven to ten page research paper about a pointless action novel. i do not understand why people try to look into matters or subjects where they need not to look. all i can say is that i took this class because i needed to fulfill an writing intensive class and got burned. haggard wrote king solomon’s mines because he wanted to write a bad action thriller. period. no need to look in depth in the matter.

jonathan buchsbayew

i wrote this in december when i had to write a reserech paper on a fictional childrens book.

I AM IN COLLEGE AND I HAVE NOTICE THAT IN MANY OF MY CLASSES, WE Analysis POINTLESS SUBJECTS OR MATTERS. I DONT GET IT...... WHEN I SIT IN CLASS, LIKE THEN ONE IM IN RIGHT NOW. WE ARE TRYING TO UNDERSTAND HOW EMPIRES ( NOT THE MEAT PRODUCTIONS, RATHER THE ONE THAT DOMINATES) THINK AND VARIOUS COMPLEXES THEY SUFFER FROM. WHEN I BECOME A THERAPIST, MY FIRST CLIENT IS GOING TO BE EMPIRE AND IM GONNA HAVE HIM LY DOWN ON MY IKEA COUCH.

ME: SO... MR. EMEPIRE, UUMMMMM, SSSOO, HOW ARE YOU DOING?
EMPIRE: BAD
ME: WHY?
EMPIRE: EVERYONE IS TRYING TO UNDERSTAND ME, WHEN I DONT UNDERSTAND MYSELF
ME: WWWOOWWW, THAT MUST BE HARD
EMPIRE: YEA ITS HARD, ALL THE ACADEMICS THINK THAT I LIKE TO DOMINATE AND RULE. ALL I REALLY WANT IS TO SAVE THE WHALES AND HELP LITLLE BUNNIES FIND THEIR WAY. YOU KNOW, MY COUSIN UMPIRE, WAS REALLY THE ONE WHO WANTS TO BE DOMINEERING. BUT EVERYONE THINKS ITS ME AND I HAVE BEEN DOING WHAT THEY SAY.
ME: I CAN'T BELIEVE I'M HAVING A CONVERSATION WITH AN IDEA

why in all my classes, we are always bashing america and blaming others. this kid in my class says he does not consider himself american because he hates america, even though he was born in the bronx. I say, stop being a poser. if u don't like something do something, leave!!

words with out action, is like a bank without money.... POINTLESS

class is really getting to me... i can't write torah write now b/c these goyim ( not trying to be judgmental) keep reading my screen.

but i keep on smiling

class is over at 9:30

beating the mir in the championchip was awesome!!!

evdu et hashem b'simcha

It is 1:10, I was writing about how today's societies lack the ideas of morals and privacy. I am sad to say that I am deeply effected by that. It is hard to differentiate between right and wrong or good and bad. These confusions pollute the air I breathe and I sometimes stumble in these thoughts (not our physical actions that people in PETA and green peace are yelling about. for another time those people have a serious illness that needs to be addressed by the American_Psychiatric_Association). I came across old notes I had written on rebbi nachman. I tried to write and I did. The only question is.......does it make sense?

Likutey Morharan #222

rebbi nachman states beautifully that a person must always act cheerfully and to serve hashem with complete joy. Even if the person happens to fall from his level, he has to strengthen himself with the earlier times of when the light did shine upon him. The world operates via the laws of natures. As Newton said, "what must go up; must go down". This rule applies to the emotional state of a human being. If he is happy or on an aliyah, Awesome. Unfortunately due to nature, it will not remain, Sorry. Rebbi is preparing a person for the inevitable fall and the pathway up. During a time of an aliyah a person must learn to play offense. Score as much as you can because "THERE IN NO MERCY RULE". When it comes time to play defence you will be welled prepared and trained. As some of the great sport legends said, "sports is 90% defense and 10% offense or Defence wins championships." ( I remember when i played leagued sports in the JCC. At the end of the season, they gave the whole league trophies and announced that we are all winners. I didn't understand that then and i don't understand that now. I don't get it, are they trying to breed losers. why play sports if you can't win. This is an American concept. When is comes to spiritual growth you fight relentlessly to win. Beat up the yetzer harah) The awesomeness and kindness of hashem is that we have the power to go against nature. once an object is in motion and slows down or stops, it is naturally impossible for it to regain the previous state of motion. In spiritual development it goes both ways. what goes up must come down and even, what is down must come up. Don't be discourage when you fall from your level of ruchneus and simcha. Our levels of ruchneus is not subjected to the laws a gravity. The gift is that a person goes against nature by moving up. I will try to delve deeper in the meaning of yaredahs and their gifts. I have learned that in a down time, I can acknowledge it stinks and i don't like, But i Know its not going to last because hashem has a greater plan for me and is in control of my life. I'm gonna go to sleep because I've been up studying for my anti- american political science class. But who cares, it is all shekar. I realized that what a great gift it is too smile, I'm so grateful to be able to smile and laugh. to be cont........

Night Madness

its 12:30 on a monday morning. I cant sleep. All I think about is how many sheep I can count. Then I ask, "why am I counting sheep? And Why do I have an urge to watch Lamb Chops? There is only one solution. Create a blog! This allows me to have a healthy environment to rant and rave my thoughts. This is my kind of healthy outlet. One starting a blog is not like facebook ,where the individual is self advertising their personal life ( saying to the public, "Hey You there, Look at Me please. I really need attention). Rather it is a common way to share and express one's knowledge and ideology. My purpose for the blog is not to write for other people, but to write for myself. Lets have fun.

Wow i can not believe i am doing this. may hashem give me the stregth, knowledge and direction to write words of wisdom.
